Many IT functions can be outsourced; HR cannot. I am an IT worker who likes aspects of HR and public relations.

Initially, IT pays more. With lots of experience, HR pays more.

    IT by far.
1.with the right cirts, u can make up to 80 thousand a year.
    2. IT will never suffer. IT will continue to grow. technology is in a continuous boom, and will not slow down anytime soon.

I don’t think either field is going away any time soon. What you make in a field is completely dependent upon your education, experience and the location of the business.

What do you WANT to do? If you’re torn between the 2, how about checking out some of your local businesses and asking about internships? That way, you could “try before you buy” in to a career. You may find that you prefer one over the other, and can tailor your education towards your chosen career.

    Best of luck to you!

HR is the better choice. Info technology is usually a low paying shit job. Take Shift4 Corp for instance. They don’t pay their tech’s crap and they expect them to do way too much. Then they treat them like they are the janitors in the building. I say HR is the better choice.
