The first unit of this book begins with a review of electrician’s math and electrical theory. This information forms the basis of our electrical installations, but the working electrician does not have an opportunity to review the math or theory behind his/her work each day. A review of this nature is very essential before we begin the study of more in-depth calculations in the NEC. Throughout this book, code questions are intermingled with examples and illustrations. Mr. Holt has a way of making the complicated requirements of the NEC make sense. This book is very good at providing instruction in performing the sometimes difficult calculations and reading the numerous tables in the NEC. There are many practice problems included to help reinforce the material covered.
I have used this book as the text for an exam preparation course that I teach. On many occasions, students have remarked on the quality and clarity of this text book. Numerous students have used other study books, and have found Holt’s book to be superior. Rating: 5 / 5
